“the place which may seem like the end may also be only the beginning.” ~Ivy Baker Priest
“I am the Alpha and the Omega [the first and the last, the beginning and the end], the One who is, and who was and who is to come” ~Yeshua ben Yoseph, of Nazareth
What a blessing this day has turned out to be! And so it should be. This post is entirely for the One who made it so…forever and always, the Lover of my soul.
Two of my favorite resurrection songs. Listen to the words of Your Great Name:
Lost are saved; find their way; at the sound of your great name
All condemned; feel no shame, at the sound of your great name
Every fear; has no place; at the sound of your great name
The enemy; he has to leave; at the sound of your great name
All the weak; find their strength; at the sound of your great name
Hungry souls; receive grace; at the sound of your great name
The fatherless; they find their rest; at the sound of your great name
Sick are healed; and the dead are raised; at the sound of your great name
Jesus, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain for us, Son of God and Man. You are high and lifted up; that all the world will praise your great name. Redeemer, My Healer, Almighty
My savior, Defender, You are My King.
You are my savior, my defender, and my King. I’m so glad I met You.
*Disclaimer: These images are not my own. I found them on Google Images. As best I can tell, the first image is by Patrick Devonas/1965 and entitled Allegory of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ (artrenewal.org). In reality, it’s a bit unrealistic in it’s representation of the body that lay in that tomb on that particular morning, but I liked it anyway. I wish I could have found who created the second, it looks as though it may have been a photo from a church dramatization somewhere. It’s file name was 2003-Resurrect. If I can track down the artist, I will certainly give him/her the credit they are due! For today, these images, like the Man they portray, belong to us ALL.
